Showers Everyday? YAY or NAY?

Since I am a co-captain of a cheerleading squad, I tend to hear a lot of hair, makeup, "does this make me look fat?" dilemmas. The most recent one that I have come across is oily hair. People have asked me plenty of times before, whether or not they should shower everyday. My answer is yes.. and no. Showers are a good thing. They make you smell nice, they make you feel like a rockstar when your singing at the top of your lungs..... haha just kidding... or am I.. hmmm.. Anyway, showers are a very important thing to do everyday. Now here comes the BUT WAIT! Showers everyday may be a good thing for your body, BUT not for your hair. Here's probably where your saying to yourself, "but my hair gets oily if I don't wash it everyday!" Do you want to know why your hair gets oily? Because your washing it everyday. It's as simple as that. Now your probably thinking,"how can that be? washing your hair gets the oil out." That may be true, but there is an actual scientific explanation of why you shouldn't wash your hair every day. Imagine your hair is like a factory. Let's say this factory is producing candles. People buy the candles on a regular basis to make their houses smell good, or for decor; so the production of the candles are minimum. But, lets say that there is a power outage. Suddenly, those candles are being produced like crazy, and by the time the power comes back on, that factory has over produced candles. This all relates back to your hair. When hair is washed everyday, its like your hair is telling your cells to produce more oil because your washing out those naturally produced vitamins. So, there is a very simple solution to oily hair. Wash it less. Get one of those shower caps that grandmas use. Yes, your hair may be very oily at first, but thats because the "factory" is still making too many candles. Eventually, the problem will correct itself. Try not to wash your hair for 2 or 3 days. After awhile, you will notice that your hair will be less oily. Keep doing this and you will have beautiful, bouncy hair.

Vacation - A little rant by yours truly :)

Considering this is MY blog, I feel as if I can write about whatever I want.... Which is what I'm about to do. A lot of people don't seem to understand how tiring of a day I typically have. Normally during the school season, my day starts at 5 A.M. I get up, get ready, try and eat something for breakfast, then I'm out the door by 6:45. That time (6:45) is quite significant since thats also the precise timing that I walk in the door at night. Yes, I understand that people of the working world normally get in at that time, but for the most part, the teenagers of the USA get to go home at three. This, trying to get A's in school, plus cheerleading (which on game days I normally get home between 9-11) put a whole lot of unnecessary pressure on my mind and body. I said all that to say this; I get people asking me to go places with them almost every day. I am currently on my Christmas vacation. What, pray tell, do you think a very mentally, physically, and emotionally tired teenager wants to do on a vacation??? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. My friends rag on me all the time for not using my phone. NEWS FLASH: I have no desire to communicate with anyone. I dearly love my friends and family, but the way my mind works, it needs to shut down or it will BREAK down. I literally lock myself in my room, away from the world, and just relax when I have vacation days. Honestly, I'm most happy that way. Plus, if anyone really loves the bouncy, peppy, Victoria... they know that I need mental space to be that girl.
Soooo, in conclusion, thanks for listening.

New Year, New Blog, Welcome 2013 :)

Hello Peoples of the World!!!!!!! I don't know about you guys, but I'm majorly excited about 2013. We all have our ups and downs throughout the year, but every New Year's Day, people all over the world celebrate at the chance to change and make themselves better for the upcoming year. I decided to start this blog because I have a passion for the beautiful things in this world. Whether it be the things that make us beautiful on the outside (like makeup, clothes or things of the beauty nature), or the things that make us beautiful on the inside (happiness, joy, love), I want to take the journey of finding what those things are and sharing it with all of you. I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed year.
